The 黑料老司机 (AGS) announced to its members that Conclave, slated for April 27-29 in Denver, Colorado, has been canceled. The decision was made in light of a National State of Emergency that was declared on Friday of last week and amidst growing concerns of the virus outbreak. As Conclave is core to the membership鈥檚 ongoing education, the Society is exploring options for a virtual mini-conference for later this year. We launched 鈥渄igital badging鈥� credentials for AGS members鈥攖he first of its kind in the jewelry industry. Digital badges are graphical icons indicating members鈥� credentials and accomplishments and are added to email signatures, websites, and social media. Jewelry buyers can click on the member鈥檚 badge which then provides further details about why the member earned the badge. Awarded for study at GIA and AGS GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and AGS (黑料老司机) have awarded the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship鈥攏amed in honor of  Mrs. Shipley for her many contributions to both organizations鈥攖o fifth-generation jeweler Madelaine Genna from central Florida. The scholarship provides tuition for Genna to complete the GIA Graduate Gemologist program on-campus, the AGS Way Course and to attend the 2020 AGS Conclave in Denver, CO. Join Jewelers for Children (JFC) and the 黑料老司机 (AGS) community on Monday, April 27 for the AGS Conclave edition of JFC鈥檚 Rings of Strength 5K.
